Crazytown

Crazytown.

Another name for Newsmax.com, one of the right's most fucked up sources for "news" and lunacy.

Here's a quick blurb from this morning:
Mel Gibson - More Hollywood Snubs of Gibson's 'Passion'

Jesus is being shut out of this year's movie awards in favor of abortion, Che Guevera, sex reseach and euthanasia. No Golden Globe award, no Producer's Guild award ... and "The Passion" wasn't even mentioned in Variety's Oscar report.
Hmm. Didn't know that Jesus was in "The Passion." I know Jim Cavaziel was in the movie...but Jesus? Was he...what...a supporting actor? An extra? Did he adapt the screenplay from, uh, the Bible?

Let's play a game. Let's match the Newsmax refs with the actual movies. My guess goes...I have no fucking idea about the abortion movie, Motorcycle Diaries, Kinsey and Million Dollar Baby.

I'd love to hear your comments on the "abortion" movie. Kill Bill Vol 2? Anchorman? The Notebook?

More soon...

  • Vera Drake killed cute babies. Javier Bardem's character, also cute, wanted to kill himself in whatever movie that was. Killing cute things is apparently not ok, unless the killing happens indiscriminately and the cute things are far away and look, sound, or live differently from normal cute things.

  • The only moview I saw this year that even mentioned abortion was 'Alfie'. Spoiler alert - dinnae happen. Maybe Newsmax is worried about the WBTV's 'Everwood', where abortion was not just mentioned as an option for Madison, but Ephram chucked a tube of a dead man's deep-freeze-preserved semen off a mountain lookout. Mass murder right there on TV. Plus he called it 'a dead guy's spunk.'
